This my dear friends, is a rental. 
Same team that brought us “National Treasure”, they should definitely stick with that, because the minute they tried their hands on magic and fantasy, they dropped the ball somewhere.
Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad movie, it just isn’t what you’d expect from a summer movie, it is mildly entertaining, the story is very simple and linear. The humor seldom works. It is of course forgettable as hell, and is also in my opinion, very anti climatic.
It is a fine family film, especially for younger viewers, I think they would very much enjoy all the magic and mysticism, but if you’re over 15 or so, rent it when you’re bored.
Nice try though, but no cigar.
