This movie was fun. Your typical summer popcorn flick.

Tom Cruise has a more stale role than usual, so I wouldn’t say his role demanded much action prowess, but for what it’s worth he play it well. A super secret agent man who makes impossible stunts and remarkable skills look as easy as taking a brisk stroll through the park.

Cameron Diaz, plays well…your typical Cameron Diaz role. The dumb blond that sort of makes you want to be annoyed by her, but you don’t because she has a great smile.

This movie is almost a spoof of Tom’s other franchise which is “Mission Impossible”

The first half hour of the movie will have you laughing plenty, and then the laughs become a bit more scarce. But the movie doesn’t get boring at any point, since right as you think you have the plot figured out, and you think okay, I’ve got this down, and it’s quite linear, they throw a red haring your way, and makes you wonder if everything you’ve been watching was all smoke and mirrors.

This movie also does what a summer movie should, and it is exactly what they market it to be, simple, fluffy, silly, action packed with some tight stunts.

But this again suffers from summer movies’ one hitch, it is forgettable. But we can’t blame it for not being memorable, as it did not set out to be memorable, neither do most other summer movies.

So the summer movie rating must be set apart from those of average movies. But as far as summer movies go, this one hits the spot, much like a light lunch on a sunny summer afternoon right before the beach. Pass the ribs and hot sauce please!
